I love creating my Durer Names (as I call them in my head) there is something so satisfying about them emerging, cut by cut, from the paper. But I can honestly say that I didn't even consider doing more than one name at a time until I received Lucy's commission.
Lucy has 4 daughters and wanted their names entwined together into one piece. Et voila!

can I fly?
I love the font Clarendon but no matter how I tried to use it, it just reminded me of one of the very successful Kyleigh's paper cuts (and I don't think that there's anyone on the 'Not on The High Street' site who hasn't seen her paper cuts recently). So I thought I'd go the whole hog and do this one in a very similar way, it was for a present for my niece anyway.

Tattoo-ish names in scrummy frames
Wow, it ryhmes!
I based this design on a tattoo that I saw of Pink's. I think it's a tattoo anyway, I can't remember where I saw the image now. I made the first one for a friend call Abigail (but I posted about that before). So here are two new names, but mainly I wanted to show you the lovely new frames that I've got a local framer to make for me. Don't they just look scrummy?

Stamp silhouette
If anyone out there's ever wondered what Mr. Poppet looks like, this should give you a vague idea, I came up with the design for his birthday this year. I've also updated my etsy shop, and this one is in there now.

Teenage presents
I often find teenagers pretty hard to buy presents for, I get bored of buying them vouchers or just giving them cash. So this year I thought I'd make something for their walls.

Foxy lady
And here's my fox version 2.
I really need to get some frames sourced so I can present these better.

Feeling Foxy
I'm still fascinated by paper cuts and have been drawing up various designs trying to 'find my style'. So here's my fox version 1:

Belieber's
My niece is a HUGE belieber (aka a Justin Bieber fan) and so when it came to her birthday I thought I'd make her something to go on her wall.
Apparently, Justin's fans often make a heart symbol with their hands, his favourite colour is purple and his next book or album is called 'Believe'. So I proudly thought I'd ticked all boxes.
The only thing is that I've since found out that they call his fan's 'beliebers' so I may try making her up a version just with that one word instead.

Rita's quilt
I have been very honoured by being asked to restore a 40 year old quilt, by a friend of my MIL.
As you can see, many seems have come undone. Fabrics have frayed and sometimes ripped, and some pieces are just plain old missing.
I've been told that all the fabrics are sentimental, they are from clothing belonging to someone in Rita's family and worn at certain events and Rita knows the story of each one. Also the quilt was put together by hand by her mum, who has now died. So I'm carefully going along in strips and re-stitching anything that needs it, without fiddling too much. I'm trying to keep as much original material and stitching as possible, and am trying not to make it obvious where I have been.
When I'm finished with the quilt top, I'm going to wad and back it properly and I imagine that will strengthen the quilt top throughout. With any luck it could then last another 40 years.

Back again
Well it's been a while since I last posted. I'm not sure why, but I feel like I've lost my way a bit. My mojo has definitely gone and left me. Maybe writing this post will help me get back into the flow.
Not only have I not been posting, but I haven't even been able to face reading posts - it feels like I've had a slight aversion to my mac and couldn't bear to spend any extra time near it. Weird huh?
So I thought I get back on the old horse by posting some picks of things that I've been fiddling on with at the back end of last year. After setting up an account on Pinterest, and spending far too much time looking at pretty pictures on it, I realised that I kept humming Beyonce's Single Ladies song but with a slight lyric change.

Santa's on his way
It's that time of year again. Sure enough the pressures on to get your Chrimbo cards sorted, and this year I thought I'd print us some snowmen cards to send out. I still really like my Russian dolls card, so I thought I base the snowmen on that idea. What's cuter than a family of snowmen hey?
I've printed a few more Than I needed (expecting some dodge prints) but they all printed really well. So I'm going to put the extras for sale in my Folksy and Etsy shops.
Also, for the month of November I'm also going to do an offer where you can buy any four of my cards for a tenner. It doesn't matter if they're all the same, or if it's one of four different designs. This is all in an effort to regain some drawer space as I have other ideas that I what to get on and make, but need some space to accommodate them. If you want to take me up on this offer look out for this listing:

Sunny days
It feels like it's been a while since I blogged. After having a hectic time at work it just felt like I needed some time away from my mac, but it doesn't mean that I'm not fiddling on with things. I'm still pushing on with my hexagon quilt, and I'm fully in printing mode. So hopefully I'll get some more posts up soon.
Through October we had some beautifully sunny days which inspired the second one of my framed commissions.
At first I framed it up with a white background which really didn't work, I think it looks far stronger against the black. For the third frame, I'm considering trying my hand at a spot of quilling. Never tried it before, but hey, why not?

When my eldest was a baby I often found myself singing this little song to her, probably because it was one of those annoying tunes in one of her baby toys that you can't turn off. These things stick.
